TB-500 dosage: what the research used

Reviewed 22 October 2026 · How we research

This page collects the doses reported in published TB-500 research and works through the reconstitution maths for common vial sizes. It does not recommend any dose.

Doses used in published research

Animal wound studies used microgram amounts applied topically or injected intraperitoneally. The human phase 1 trial gave intravenous Tβ4 in single and repeated doses across a wide milligram range. There is no approved dose of TB-500, and figures used in the community (often a few milligrams per week) are not from trials.

Handling and storage

Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, adding it slowly down the vial wall and swirling rather than shaking — see the reconstitution guide. Once mixed, refrigerate at 2–8 °C; unmixed lyophilised powder keeps longest frozen (storage guide). Converting between units, mL and mg is covered in syringe units explained.

TB-500 dosing FAQs

How much bacteriostatic water for a 5 mg TB-500 vial?

There is no fixed amount — the volume sets the concentration. Adding 2 mL to a 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/mL; 1 mL gives 5 mg/mL, 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL, 3 mL gives 1.667 mg/mL.

How many units is 500 µg of TB-500?

At 2.5 mg/mL (5 mg in 2 mL), 500 µg is 0.2 mL, or 20 units on a U-100 syringe. A different water volume changes this — use the calculator above.

Is there an approved TB-500 dose?

no approved dose of TB-500, and figures used in the community (often a few milligrams per week) are not from trials.

What is a TB-500 dosage chart?

A table showing how many syringe units a given amount takes at a given concentration. The reconstitution table on this page is one, calculated for 5 / 10 mg vials.
